Specifically doctors' lives. And, not just lives, but their lifestyle. Wouldn't want to operate anyone who are really sick, or they might die, and spoil our stats. Treating illness is why we became doctors. Treating patients is actually what makes most doctors miserable. Wanting to believe the best about people doesn't make it true. We all make a mistake, and we all pay a price. We are doctors. They believe whatever we say. We are who people think we are.
